So long, farewell

Goodbyes and changes are inevitable - how much ever I prepare myself for them, they still catch me unawares. A friend from work leaves this weekend for an onsite assignment (In the world of Information Technology, onsite means going out of India for projects). This friend is a lunch and tea buddy. He's the one who brought together a bunch of like minded individuals, which then got added on to and eventually I had one of the nicest lunch gangs in a long time. The last few months have been so much more fun and bearable thanks to these people. We were quite a mad set of people - bottom line - we were hilarious! We've all bonded over time and found the comfort and solace in the friendships we've formed. You know when you've made friends for life - those kinds who you either keep in touch with or do not, and will always stay in mind and heart - I can safely say these people fit in that category.

Like with all people who come and go in our lives, people started moving on - one for Bangalore, one in preparation of her delivery (She'd due Oct 1st week! Yaay!!) and now another leaves for his onsite assignment in the USofA.

So as he said goodbye today, I could not help but feel a little sentimental. You're a nice person my friend and I will miss your enthusiasm, your smile, your intelligence and your presence. Meet again we shall, Disneyworld - 2012 right :-)) Till then, Bon Voyage and happiness and success following you and your lovely family - all the way.

Loss

This heart-wrenching post was put up on FB by someone I know. My condolences to you and your family. This is a beautifully penned poem on the loss of a loved one and I'm sure it would touch your heart like it did mine.

You never said I'm leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried
If Love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died
In Life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home
